      FAQs

How long should I work with a coach?
      white right arrow

Everyone is different in their needs and reasons for seeking out a coach. It's often common to work with a coach for a year or more, but the real measure of success will be something you know when it occurs. You will have early break throughs, if you are motivated in the process, but often the most meaningful and deeply rooted changes take time but they are more than worth it in the end.

Why does the Mind Science Coaching approach place an emphasis on leadership development?
      white right arrow

All of us have leadership roles in our lives whether we know it or not. Leadership is first and foremost nothing more than influence. If we have things we value in life, which I'm hoping is the case, then we are tasked with exercising influence to nurture, develop, and assist in the thriving of those things. It may be at work, with family and friends, or perhaps most fundamentally, with ourselves. At this base level, self leadership is the willingness to ask more of yourself and your capabilities and to play an active role in directing that process. You being here reading this is a perfect example of that capacity and desire.

What results can I expect from working with a coach?
      white right arrow

This all depends on why you are reaching out to a coach and ultimately, how badly you desire a change. I can tell you from my personal experience working with a coach that nearly every facet of my life has improved. I went from a stressed out entrepreneur, finding my value in nothing more than a never ending work day, to finding a sense of peace and contentment while ALSO increasing my businesses success. By exploring and exercising the three paradigms which make up the Mind Science Systems approach, I have been able to identify and create more space for the things that I truly value in life. I think most importantly, I was able to rediscover a sense of purpose and passion in life which I didn't think was possible any longer.

Is a coach a good fit for helping me navigate business challenges?
      white right arrow

Absolutely. Whether it be through the application of leadership principles to develop your team and colleagues, or simply  working through the many challenges that running a business or a team of people can present, the coaching process can assist with this. It was for me personally, one of the best business decisions I ever made.

I struggle with living a healthy lifestyle. Can you help me with this?
      white right arrow

Yes. Everyone has a different idea of what that might mean or look like but coaching can help identify what a healthy lifestyle looks like for you and how to best work towards it. A lot of the less than ideal habits we form are often based in very normal and common (but not always healthy) anxiety management strategies. Even those which end up causing us more anxiety in the long run often start out as coping strategies for managing anxiety in the moment. This can take the form of physical neglect, watching endless hours of Netflix, workaholism, drug or alcohol dependencies, or even (ironically) extreme levels of exercising to name a few.

What's the difference between coaching and working with a therapist?
      white right arrow

Therapy has its merits and is a useful tool for working through past traumas or other psychological challenges. The biggest difference between therapy and coaching, in my opinion, is that therapy often spends time looking back, while coaching looks forward to what is possible and how we can work to help get you there.
